SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK —

It was the first SIP, a Midsummer Night's Dream, originally produced by Riverbank Community Theater in 2003, that inspired what became Lights and Sound operated by Images of Distinction.

Produced each summer in the City of Riverbank's Jacob Myers Park, that first year, RCT spent more money to RENT sound equipment for two days of production than it would have cost to BUY the equivalent equipment.

RCT's next production, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, staged at Riverbank's California Avenue School, proved the additional need for it's own lighting equipment, as well.

Since 2007, SIP has been produced by Rio Arts. Also that year, a rock concert and "Fringe" (Newcomer) Show was added to the bill for Satuday's performances.

Pictures above show the June 2007 staging. SIP has always been and remains an Admission-Free event for the community.

The Fifth Annual SIP will be staged June 18-22, 2008, at Jacob Myers Park in Riverbank.
